What we do
The Spatial Hub's remit is to pull together and standardise Scottish local authority's spatial data to form a consistent and up-to-date national picture. By using specific data publication standards, technologies and services we are helping meet local authority's EU INSPIRE commitments and ensuring that we enhance the usefulness, quality and accessibility of the data.
Our social impact
Our project potentially impacts all sectors due to the wide range of data that local governments collect. For anyone attempting to conduct Scotland-wide analysis and make informed decisions based on georeferenced data, our project could be crucial to them. Whilst helping local authorities efficiently and cheaply meet their data sharing and publication obligations (under INSPIRE) we are also adding value to the data they create, alleviating individual data requests to each of these bodies and ensuring that better national data is made available for analysis and decision making.
