What we do
Fuel is an online social writing network that enables users to read and participate in the continuation of short, bite-sized fictional accounts written in the literary form of a screenplay.
Fuel is about enacting different roles in a given fictional space and exploring the many possibilities that can arise from participating in the continuation of an unfinished scene. By asking members to answer the question "What would you do, if…?", Fuel nourishes our imagination and gives us safe and compelling worlds in which to practice.
Our social impact
By taking an inclusive approach, Fuel promotes meaningful dialogue and rewards thoughtfulness. Instead of simply broadcasting opinions, users will be able to exchange views with a deeper understanding of another person's culture and identity.
Fuel also offers exciting and creative possibilities to foster media literacy in schools. Since every screenplay excerpt ends with a hook, students can be stimulated within small groups, or individually, to deliberate on how the characters feel in a certain situation, what motivates them, and how the scene may go on. In so doing, they develop empathy and learn to think and act ethically both in respect to media use and their own environment.
