What we do
The Social Enterprise Reporting Tool was developed by researchers at the Centre for Social Impact, working across three Universities: Swinburne University of Technology, the University of Western Australia and the University of NSW.
Our desire to build SERT came from our research findings. We explored how social enterprises respond to resourcing challenges, since without sustainable resource streams, social enterprises can’t establish in markets, or produce social impact.
Our findings show a need for suitable business support systems to help social enterprises overcome resourcing barriers. From this, SERT was created.
Our social impact
We are trying to help social enterprises to become resilient in the face of increasing economic and social resource scarcity. Our system helps them to overcome this scarcity by offering a reliable and useful system to support their growth from early-stage ideas to sustainable business. Our Statement of Social Performance helps small/medium sized social enteprises to translate and communicate their performance and impacts to a wide range of stakeholders.
