What we do
Using digital technologies to face social challenges. Digital technologies evolution promotes a significant change in citizens' routines making them more and more dependent of digital platforms and devices for their daily activities. In this context, only those who have adequate digital skills will be able to fully exercise their rights and civic duties. It´s known that mainly in rural communities as the age increases there is a decrease in the access and use of digital technologies, with a worrying level of info-exclusion for adults, especially for older adults.
Our social impact
True social inclusion can only occur if there is a previous digital inclusion, because the exercise of full citizenship can only be effective if all citizens, without exception, can see their rights and duties safeguarded. In 2018 DEXAA launched a digital social innovation program especially dedicated to rural communities where digital development, inclusion and literacy are so much needed. As part of this program DEXAA has started this low cost proximity project
