Our objective is to expand the labor market opportunities of disabled young people and to promote their atypical employment (eg. teleworking).
In the first phase, we are reaching out to 14 to 18-year-old youth living with orthopedic impairment in Budapest. And we are doing this by establishing a platform where they acquire coding knowledge and IT skills. During the entire learning process, we connect them to trained tech professionals from partnering companies, who provide one to one mentoring to them throughout the 12 session-long programming course, where they learn one of the most in-demand programming languages. (eg. JavaScript, C++, Python). One to one mentoring enables maximum flexibility and helps not only the learning process but to keep the motivation high and to introduce students to the real world of work.
By completing the course students gain basic programming knowledge which is usable in the IT sector and highly useful in other sectors. Connection with the mentors helps to overcome interpersonal disadvantages and improves sensitivity on both sides.
The proposed solution has the potential to grow and be replicated elsewhere, thus in the second phase, we plan to expand the project across Hungary.
