What we do
The initiative “Library Living Lab – Barcelona” (L3) explores the links between culture, technology and society, focusing on the area of Volpelleres, a new neighbourhood of Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona, Spain), whose development has been strongly affected by the current economic situation.
The project brings together a consortium coordinated by the Computer Vision Centre, the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB), and Sant Cugat del Vallès Municipality. It also integrates the Neighbourhood of Volpelleres, the Barcelona Provincial Council and is open to the participation of small and large companies.
Our social impact
We helped to transform the ecosystem of 250 libraries of the region of Barcelona, by transforming it in real innovation hub.
- Innovative services and products: We provided novel instruments to improve the experience of people in libraries.
- Sutainability: We created a sustainable model for all the stakeholders to be integrated in the innovation process.
- Methodologies: People are now in the centre of the decision making process.
- Policy making: We help design the library of the future and how institutions keep a sustainable project.
