What we do
Get Outdoors for Fun Exercising
The real trick to getting regular exercise is to make as much of it as possible fun and exciting. Varying activities, trying something new, and building core strength will not get boring if it does not feel like a chore. Most people start off an exercise program with excitement, determination, and motivation. That is lost all too fast when walking on the tread mill for fifteen minutes, lifting hand weights, and struggling through an exercise video gets old.
Getting outdoors and having some fun makes exercise bearable at first, and actually enjoyable with time. Do not spend time walking on the treadmill, walk through the park instead. Distractions aplenty will pleasantly pass the time and make you forget this is supposed to be exercise. Watch the kids play, listen to the birds chirping, or walk with a friend for engaging conversation.
Keep Trying New Activities
There are countless activities that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. Participants do not have to be perfect at an activity, they just need a positive attitude. That yoga class on the beach may seem boring from a distance, but it may turn out to be fun and relaxing. Running a marathon will not be possible within a week, but a fast walk to the center of town is a great place to start.
Seek Exercise in a Favorite Setting
People who love the woods can slowly begin to hike. Learn how to use a compass, bring plenty of water with you, and carry a tracking device for safety. Enjoy the pulse of the big city? Visit observation towers and take the stairs half way up to the top. The amazing view will be a memorable reward.
Take to the Water
Beginning exercisers who enjoy the water can try stand up paddle boards on Oahu. It is less intimidating than donning a wet-suit and trying to balance on a surf board, and easy to learn. The boards for this type of paddle boarding on Oahu are longer and wider than surf boards. The use of a long canoe-inspired paddle provides stability. It also makes maneuvering the board fun and easy.
This variation of paddle boarding oahu began on Waikiki Beach in the 60’s. Instructors used the paddles to steady their boards so they could provide tourists with photographs of themselves taking surfing lessons. The sport, in all its forms, has begun a resurgence in popularity. Requests and reservations for paddle board lessons Oahu were higher than those for surfing lessons. Give it a try and build up muscles, coordination, and balance while having fun.
