What we do
Professionals and executives, both unemployed and working, will want to register with a few recruiting agencies that specialize in their fields. Why should professionals who are happy in their current jobs register? Because the economy is uncertain at best, and many companies are downsizing or re-structuring to cut costs and remain in business. The first cuts are in the middle and upper management positions.
Entry level employees may face lay-offs, but they are essential to production so the hit there will be minimal. Hours may be reduced, benefits may dwindle, but the company will not survive without entry level people. There are a few exceptions.
Automation is stealing some jobs from the workforce. Relocation to another country will also kill all the available jobs for those in entry level positions. It is wise for those workers to register with an agency as well.
The Advantages of Registering
Recruiting agencies look through their databases for potential candidates before conducting original searches. If you are not included in the database, the position may not be an option for you. Registering gets all the preliminaries out of the way so if a vacancy arrives, professionals, executives, and managers are already to go.
A resume goes on file, salary requirements are indicated, and background information is all verified. The process also includes an interview where those registering can express attitudes, preferences, future goals, and any special experiences or qualifications that will help them stand out from other candidates.
The Future May Hold Great Things
Professionals and executives who are currently employed may not be aware of other possibilities unless they register with an agency. A Packaging Recruiter seeking an engineer for process control, for example, may call to see if there is interest in that position. It may provide the opportunity to relocate, move to a higher position, or try working for a different company.
It may also be possible to change positions for new challenges. There are a surprising number of Flexible Packaging jobs and careers. A structural or graphic designer for a small custom garment business may wish to utilize skills and experiences in the field of packaging. Skills will transfer well, and the position may improve current income or interest levels.
