Feelif

.

What we do

Feelif is our multimedia tool for blind and visually impaired which enables them to feel shapes on a standard touchscreen.

Feelif consists of:

  • a standard tablet;
  • custom relief grid on top of the touchscreen; and
  • special app connecting everything together in an unforgettable experience of sound and vibration under the user’s fingertips.

How it works

Feelif is easy to use. The learning time for a blind person is about 5 minutes, which is incredible.

With Feelif you can:

  • feel shapes, like a square, triangle, heart or even a house;
  • feel geometric functions;
  • learn how to read and write Braille.

You can also have fun:

  • you can draw;
  • watch interactive stories;
  • play games.

Do you want to express yourself? No problem, you can create your own content, which you can share or sell.

For you we have 2 products:

  • Feelif device; and
  • Feelif Open Platform, which is our marketplace for content and app.

With the platform we are uniting all stakeholders in one place: blind and visually impaired, parents and caretakers, teachers, content creators and software developers.

Our social impact

Objective 1: Mitigate the economic burden of blind and visually impaired

Disabilities have often been associated with poverty and people with disabilities are amongst the poorest of the poor. Because of physical and social barriers, people with disability face loss of opportunity and are excluded because of institutional, environmental and attitudinal discrimination. Their dependence on tools and methods for social integration is inevitable. Success of the integration is heavily dependent on social transfers, engagement of individual's family and most importantly on prices of available resources.

Feelif is considered to be 10-30 times cheaper than competitive solutions and the price was approved by conducting a survey among potential users and other relevant stakeholders. For those who still cannot afford to buy the product, our company will establish a special donation fund.

Additionally, we will enable blind and visually impaired to be content creators for Feelif, being able to share and sell created content and earn money to improve their livelihood.

Objective 2: Address the needs of blind and visually impaired: unheard and unseen

In the world live about 246 million visually impaired and 39 million blind people (source: WHO), both our target population. Our bottom-up users analysis shows 161 million potential customers, in US and EU 19 million (main markets).

Although the term blindness leaves little room for misunderstanding, many people are unaware of the consequences/impact of blindness on everyday life, including the variation of impairment that may be experienced. Our target group has many challenges. One of them is quality education, whereby the latter is central in the fight against poverty (source: UNESCO). With above mentioned special features of our solution we will enable our target group more quality education.
