Size Matters?
11th May 2016
We regret to inform you that, due to a technical issue, we can't currently accept new projects and organisations. We're working as quickly as we can to get this fixed and look forward to seeing your work on the platform soon!
In the meantime, please do sign up to our newsletter through the homepage, and if you have any questions drop us a line at [email protected].
Join a 4-hour workshop on the evaluation of how open source and maker projects can grow; how they are currently growing; and how they could have a better impact according to factors and values that make a project sustainable beyond financial and commercial parameters.
The hands-on workshop focuses on key questions such as:
– can maker projects scale while considering societal good as a parameter?
– what is a sustainable way of growing as an innovator?
– can social impact be the driver of the bottom-up innovation?
When will it happen?
Tuesday 31st May afternoon in Brussels at iMal Center for Digital cultures and technologies during the first European Maker Week
What will we make?
Does size matters? Come and help us to answer this question and create a “maker” scale, a dynamic open source tool that will support the community of social innovators to grow considering values such as the creation of a community, the technological openness, communication, and financial sustainability.
Who we are looking for?
Are you developing a project around a societal issue such as energy consumption, alternative ways of distributing or making goods, systems for care-giving based on open source hardware, social innovation policies for local communities, innovative services, and economic business models? Makers, change makers, and business experts are all welcome to participate.
Who is organizing the workshop?
On behalf of DIS4EU consortium:
Serena Cangiano (SUPSI Lugano) – workshop leader
Zoe Romano (WeMake) – workshop leader
Registration (FREE)
More information about the workshop will be spread via email.
